Dreams, Destiny & the Stars: Aisling’s Astrological Chart revealed

Welcome back to another fascinating glimpse into the astrological world of the Of Gods and Monsters series! This month, my daughter Shannon returns as your guide, this time turning her expert eye to the chart of our beloved protagonist, Aisling O'Leary Doyle. (Missed Shannon's deep dive into Mary's chart? Be sure to revisit the June 10 newsletter!)

For those yet to meet Aisling, here is a little taste of her story. Born in New Hampshire and raised far from her Irish roots, Aisling's life is quietly shaped by dreams she never fully understands — until everything changes. When she witnesses the deaths of both her mother and her husband, Trevor, in her dreams, she can no longer ignore what she has been gifted with. Driven by grief, fear, and an unrelenting need for answers, she travels to Galway, Ireland, to uncover the truth about her dreaming powers and reconnect with the family her mother left behind.

Now, I will hand you over to Shannon and her exploration of Aisling's astrological chart. Enjoy!

I’m back with another birthday! This time we’re celebrating Aisling’s birthday. Aisling was born on June 21st, the summer solstice, a day of welcoming the sun, light, and power of summer. That seems pretty fitting for her, since her whole journey in the books is about learning to own and use her powers.

Let’s take a look at a few of her astrological signatures.

First: her sun is in the sign of Cancer, in her 8th house. Not only that, but her sun is at the 0 degree of Cancer. The 0 degree point of a sign is a powerful placement, and indicates a strong new beginning energy tied to that planet’s expression. In Aisling’s case, with a 0-degree sun in Cancer sitting in her 8th house, she was born to bring a powerful new beginning to her maternal ancestral lineage and her psychic inheritance from her maternal line (hello Dreammaster lineage!) is very important to her life path. The other interesting part of this placement is that the 8th house is about power and transformation through death, and Aisling discovers her Dreammaster powers and is thrust into her otherworldly initiation after the death of first her mother, then her husband.

Next, let’s look at Aisling’s moon placement, which indicates her emotional world and her intuitive gifts. Aisling’s moon is in Scorpio, in her 12th house. Having her moon in Scorpio can indicate that her inner world is intense, deep, secretive, and hyper-attuned to betrayal (something that she experiences several times in her story). With her moon in the 12th house, she has an intuitive connection to the dream world and spiritual realms, which is perfect for her role as a Dreammaster. The 12th house placement could indicate that she sometimes struggles with feeling different or isolated, the odd one out. This is another theme that comes up in her story!

Finally, let’s look at how Aisling’s Dreammaster abilities are woven into her astrological chart. Her Neptune placement is in her first house, in the sign of Sagittarius, stationed retrograde. What does that mean? Well, Neptune in her 1st house indicates that her identity may easily dissolve into her dreams, visions, and otherworldly experiences. Neptune being stationed retrograde in her chart points to her ability to deeply access the collective unconscious via her inner world or dreams. And with this placement in Sagittarius, a sign about travel, learning, and expansion, she has to travel to Ireland to understand her intuitive dream powers. In a way, her adventures in the Of Gods and Monsters books are almost perfectly written in her chart!

There are so many more placements in Aisling’s chart that wow-ed us when looking at her chart, but we’ll save those for another birthday.

Whether you like astrology or not, hopefully this helps you understand Aisling’s character better. Stay tuned for more birthday character charts later this year!

Until next time,

Kelley and Shannon
